September 6, 1991 PR NOTICE 91-5 NOTICE TO PRODUCERS, FORMULATORS, DISTRIBUTORS AND REGISTRANTS ATTENTION: Persons responsible for Federal registration of pesticides. SUBJECT: Instructions for transmitting information to the Office of Pesticide Programs. I. Purpose: EPA is continuing its efforts to improve the pro- cessing, and routing of mail that is received in the Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP). As part of this improvement we are issuing this notice to update instructions for sending or deliver- ring mail to OPP, and to caution against transmitting Confidential Business Information on facsimile machines. II. Applicability: This PR Notice applies to all persons who respond via mail, commercial delivery, or personal visit to requirements imposed by OPP in connection with, but not limited to, the granting or maintaining of registrations, experimental use permits, tolerances, responding to a data call-in notice and reregistration, or related approvals under certain provisions of FIFRA and FFDCA. It also applies to those transmitting information over facsimile machines. III. Effective Date: This notice replaces PR Notice 89-1, dated March 9, 1989 and is effective upon receipt. Please follow this guidance beginning with your next mailing, commercial delivery, or visit to OPP. IV. Addresses for OPP: Submissions via the U.S. Postal Service: Please use the official mailing address for all submissions directed to OPP by mail: Document Processing Desk (Distribution Code) Office of Pesticide Programs - H7504C U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 40l M Street SW Washington D.C. 20460-0001 Submissions by Personal/Courier Delivery: Deliveries by you or a commercial courier will be accepted at OPP's Document Processing Desk. Please do not direct deliveries to other OPP offices. Couriers and delivery personnel must present a valid picture identification card to gain access to the building. The Document Processing Desk is accessible from the elevator lobby on the second floor of Crystal Mall 2. After exiting the elevator, walk toward the lobby phone and turn left at the hallway. Hours of operation for the Document Processing Desk are 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. Addressing Mail: OPP uses Distribution Codes to facili-tate the delivery of mail, data submissions, etc., within the program. These codes are set forth on Attachment 1. When preparing materials to mail or deliver to OPP, direct your submission to the Document Processing Desk and include the appropriate distribution code selected from Attachment 1. If you are unable to determine which code is appropriate for your submission, omit the code. The mail codes listed at Attachment 2 are to be used when corresponding for other than regulatory matters with the Agency. VI. Transmitting Confidential Business Information (CBI) Over FAX Machines: Most FAX machines within OPP are located in open work areas where adequate information security cannot be main- tained. Therefore, please do not transmit CBI by FAX, because OPP cannot properly safeguard CBI transmitted in this manner. VII.
