NAPIAP has recently completed a cotton commodity assessment. The report
contains information on cotton pests and their control as well as information
on the use of harvest aid chemicals and plant growth regulators. Data provided
by extension and experiment station scientists from 16 cotton producing states
also includes information about the usage of non-pesticide practices and the
effect on cotton production of withdrawing individual and groups of pesticides.

The USDA has recently published the proceedings from a USDA Workshop on
alternatives to methyl bromide held from June 29 to July 1, 1993, in
Arlington, Virginia. Titled "Alternatives to Methyl Bromide: Assessment of
Research Needs and Priorities", it contains specific crop and commodity
recommendations on the alternatives to methyl bromide for postharvest
commodity treatment, quarantine treatment and soil fumigation. Suggestions
