The intent of this network is to inform interested parties of impending pesticide use cancellations and to afford those parties the opportunity to affect decision made by the pesticide registrants in concert with EPA. To the best of our knowledge the uses mentioned below will not appear on any label registered by the EPA following their expected cancellation.Please express any concerns or questions about the following pesticides to one of the contacts mentioned below or your NAPIAP State Liaison Representative. EBDCs (mancozeb, maneb, nabam, and metriram)

EPA has announced its final decision on the EBDC fungicides. Eleven food crop uses have been cancelled, while 45 food crop uses will be allowed under certain conditions. In some cases, there will be lower rates of use, reduced applications and/or longer preharvest intervals. The manufacturers of EBDC fungicides are currently submitting revised labeling to EPA with the allowed uses and expect products with that labeling to be available in about a month.

CANCELLED SITES: apricots, carrots, celery, collards, mustard greens, nectarines, peaches, rhubarb, spinach, succulent beans, and turnips.

SITES ALLOWED: almonds, apples, asparagus, bananas, barley, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, cantaloupe, casaba melons, cauliflower, sweet corn, popcorn, field corn, cotton, crabapple, quince, cranberries, crenshaw melons, cucumbers, dry beans, eggplant, endive, fennel, caprifigs (nonfood use), kadota figs, grapes, honeydew melons, kale, kohlrabi, head and leaf lettuce, oats, green and dry bulb onions, papaya, peanuts, pears, pecans, peppers, pineapples (seedpieces), potatoes, pumpkins, rye, sugar beets, summer and winter squash, tomatoes, watermelon, and wheat.

methyl bromide

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has petitioned EPA under the Clean Air Act to cancel or sharply reduce the use of methyl bromide. If this is an important pesticide for use on crops or commodities in your state, please contact you NAPIAP State Liaison Representative (SLR). We at USDA will be contacting your (SLR) concerning the important uses in your state.
