Volume 2, Number 5
June 19, 1992
The intent of this network is to inform interested parties of impending pesticide use cancellations and to afford those parties the opportunity to affect decision made by the pesticide registrants in concert with EPA. To the best of our knowledge the uses mentioned below will not appear on any label registered by the EPA following their expected cancellation.
Dupont Agricultural Products has announced that it does not plan to continue participation in the U.S. ornamentals market. Over the next year, ORNAMENTALS will be deleted from the labels of their products. Most cancelled uses on Dupont labels can be replaced with similar products by other companies with the same ai. Some ornamental uses, as shown here, will likely be lost because Dupont is the sole basic producer of the ai. Pesticide from any package that contains label directions for ornamentals may continue to be used for ornamentals. This decision is based upon Dupont's opinion that the potential cost to stay in the ornamentals market will exceed the potential future revenue from that market.

Sandoz Crop Protection Corp. has submitted a petition to voluntarily cancel certain uses of dienochlor. The uses to be cancelled are SHADEHOUSE, OUTDOOR, NURSERY STOCK, and EXTERIOR LANDSCAPE USES. The reason for these cancellations is the cost of data requirements for reregistration.
