Volume 2, Number 8
September 21, 1992

The intent of this network is to inform interested parties of impending pesticide use cancellations and to afford those parties the opportunity to affect decision made by the pesticide registrants in concert with EPA. To the best of our knowledge the uses mentioned below will not appear on any label registered by the EPA following their expected cancellation.

acetic acid

The USEPA has proposed that all tolerances (actually exemptions from tolerances) for the fungicide, acetic acid, be revoked as of 2/28/93. Acetic acid has exemptions from tolerances in the U.S. in or on GRAINS and ANIMAL FORAGES and FODDERS. As of January 1991, all uses were cancelled. Any comments should be sent by 10/13/92 to the Public Response Section of the USEPA with reference to OPP-300252.

The USEPA has proposed that all the tolerances for the insecticide, bufencarb, be revoked. Bufencarb has tolerances in the U.S. in or on CORN FODDER and FORAGE, FRESH CORN (includes sweet corn kernels plus cob with husk removed), CORN GRAIN, RICE GRAIN, and RICE STRAW. In April of 1986, all registered products containing bufencarb in the U.S. were allowed to be used until exhausted. Any comments should be sent by 10/13/92 to the Public Response Section of the USEPA with reference to OPP-300251.
